Located in Quai de Montebello, this striking apartment’s colorful interior borrows from Vincente Minelli’s musical with Gene Kelly and Leslie Caron, An American in Paris. The colors that can be seen when standing inside Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris are red, blue, and gold stained glass. Therefore, we naturally selected this combination, favoring French Blue as the predominant hue. This is the seventh home designed for this couple who I met in 1998 when we worked on their house in Sag Harbor and have become great friends. Construction and real estate have always been their hobby, and now they are full time real estate developers which allows them to spend tons of time in the Paris. We developed the design with them, supplied detailed drawings and their team in Paris produced the project; Yolanda Robins and Paris Mac, managed the construction; Nicole Champagnol as the local architect, and Sotir Dumitran and RCB, construction. Upholstery was done locally by Richard Leredde. Furniture and art are a collection put together with the client for years combining local finds and internet readily available pieces. With countless FaceTime calls and the keen eyes of the clients on-site, the result is exactly what we designed!
