Designer Born in Poland and immigrated to the United States during communist era, Monika has been on the move. While her parents worked hard at various jobs and moved their family from apartment to apartment, she made it her duty to make their living space an enjoyable environment. She was fortunate enough to inherit her father's handy skills. He taught her all about construction and renovating homes through their family business. This experience allowed her to have a better understanding of construction documents and imprinting the importance of functional design. Monika knew all along that she wanted to be an interior designer. She graduated with a bachelor's degree from Fashion Institutes of Technology in 2001 and started her career at ASA, an architecture company. There, she developed a strong attention to detail and acquired extensive skills in AutoCAD, a program which has become her strength. Greatly inspired by architects of the Bauhaus school and Frank Lloyd Wright, Monika makes it a point to explore this type of work in her travels. She is very passionate about Italy and has managed to convince her Italian boyfriend to propose to her under a cherry tree in Siena, Tuscany. Her actions justly reflect her personality. She knows what she wants and is very honest about it. |
